Spring Projects At Elixir

It’s already warming up in Dallas and summertime is rapidly approaching! Besides our awesome wedding and mitzvah projects that we constantly work on throughout the year, there are a few other interesting videos we’re producing. Elixir Video, our corporate branch, has been hired by The Four Seasons in Chicago to produce a promo video for their property, as well as the nearby Ritz Carlton Hotel. We fly up to the Windy City soon to begin filming!
We’re also in the midst of drill team season, and have four different high school revues to shoot in the next few weeks! The girls are great to work with and it’s always fun to see their dedication to dance!

Also this spring we are premiering a new documentary

called “Habima Theatre, A Look Behind the Scenes.” In association with the CHAI House and Jewish Community Center of Dallas, this is a look at the making of a recent musical starring adults with cognitive disorders. It’s a very emotional video that shines a light on these talented and super-friendly actors. Stay tuned..

High School Musical

8 years ago, when Elixir was first getting started, JJ Pearce High School Theatre hired us to produce their videos. Since then, we’ve worked with Lake Highlands, Plano Senior High, Berkner, Highland Park, ESD, Greenhill, McKinney Boyd, Richardson and more. It’s been a highlight of ours to be involved with so many amazing productions over the years and we hope to continue our relationship with these top Texas schools!

Modern Family parody

We just premiered a new 4-part parody of ABC’s Modern Family for The Retail Connection’s 2012 Awards Banquet. Starring employees of the commercial real estate company, this 5-week production was a lot of fun to work on and is always a highlight of the year!

Holidays in the Land of Elixir

Our seventh year of business continues full-speed ahead this month with several exciting projects. Elixir was the proud producer of the videos for the NTCAR 2011 Stemmons Awards, held this year at Brookhollow Country Club. Over 300 guests watched three of our videos highlighting the commercial real estate industry in Dallas. On 12/3, over 600 people attended the JCC’s Dancing With The Community Stars  at the Hyatt Regency in downtown. We produced short behind-the-scenes vignettes for each couple and also shot the live show with two cameras. Check out the videos clips on our Facebook page to see the two celebrity surprise guests!

Other recent highlights have included an amazing 40th anniversary/renewal of vows at Shearith Israel and the Westin Galleria and what’s sure to be an awesome Bat Mitzvah party on Dec 12. A reality show in Canada is even documenting the entire process of this sure to be over-the-top event!

Rehearsal dinner video idea

As our busiest fall ever winds to a a close, we wanted to mention a cool new project.
Elixir Entertainment is producing a massive love story documentary about how a young couple met and fell in love. The client flew us to Houston, Omaha, NYC and Atlanta to film various historical elements of their lives and to interview key people that have played a part in their romance over the years. The 25-minute video is set to debut at their rehearsal dinner at the Ritz Carlton Atlanta. Edited with a “E True Hollywood Story” tone, this video will be a perfect start to their wedding weekend and give the guests an entertaining introduction to the bride and groom’s back-story. Definitely a nice alternative to a typical photo montage.

Destination Weddings and more!

It seems October is the month for destination weddings! We recently returned from Shreveport, LA, where we shot Kate and Houston’s fun-filled wedding weekend.

Next, is a trip up to NYC for a rehearsal dinner shoot, then a wedding in Omaha, NB, along with 3 other local Dallas weddings! It’s also exciting that we’ve begun production on The Making of JJ Pearce’s Phantom of the Opera, which should turn out to be a great behind-the-scenes documentary.

Finally – it’s Fall in Texas!

As Labor Day weekend comes to a close, the intense summer heat is almost all gone – thank goodness! We at Elixir are anticipating a fantastic fall season, which will include at least two out-of-state weddings, high school drill team events, Mitzvahs, continued work on our Junior League of Dallas project and much more!
