Constantly looking for ways to enhance the look of our videos, we’ve been shooting a lot of interesting timelapse shots. These are still images, taken every 2-3 seconds, and when they’re edited together, come across as a really cool visual. As of Summer 2014, no more DVDs

We here at Elixir always make an effort to stay on top of technology and remain cutting edge. In this regard, we’ve decided to stop offering DVDs and Blurays as part of our event packages. As with VHS, Hi-8 and mini-dv tapes, we see these discs going out of mainstream use in the near future and not being the very best method of preserving your memories. All Elixir projects will be created, edited and given to clients in high-definition digital format – either via the web/dropbox or on a custom flash drive. This is the best way currently to keep your videos the highest quality they can be.

These files can be played via computer and certain AV systems like Apple TV and others. DVDs and Bluray discs can still be created using these files though – if necessary.

Spring = so fun, so busy. All good!

As beautiful weather is on the horizon in Big D, things begin to really heat up this season at Elixir! Some really exciting projects are currently in the works and we wanted to share what we’re up to.

As you can see above, we just returned from a productive trip to New York City where we shot footage for a new rehearsal dinner documentary. This client wanted something special to show, instead of a typical photo montage. So we’re creating an emotional documentary on the bride and groom’s life – with interviews, footage from past/present, along with pictures of them growing up. It premieres in late March at their wedding in Puerto Rico!

This weekend we’re happy to be shooting a cool superhero-themed Bar Mitzvah celebration at the Westin Stonebriar. Again, this family chose Elixir for it’s ability to go above and beyond the standard video presentation. Today we’re filming a fun action sequence of the mitzvah boy being ‘kidnapped’ by the Joker – and this clip will play before he’s introduced at tonight’s party! We are also editing the party footage early tomorrow morning so the family can show a highlight clip at their Sunday brunch.

Beyond that, we have some awesome events approaching in March along with our Elixir 10 Year Anniversary party in April! Looking forward to seeing you all soon 🙂

Trip to NOLA for Inspiration 2014

Just back from an inspiring trip to the unique city of New Orleans. Besides all the amazing food and drinks consumed in the French Quarter, we went to attend a learning seminar on video production trends and techniques. It’s always important to stay on top of the game and continue being innovative.

As 2014 gets underway, there are a few exciting things we wanted to share. Firstly, this spring we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Elixir Entertainment! It’s been quite a memorable decade, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds! Stay tuned for the anniversary party announcement sometime soon.

The year ahead has some great weddings and mitzvahs already booked, along with exciting school projects and non-profits productions. We do have dates open at the moment, so please inquire about your event sooner than later.

New Event Offering – – SLO MO VIDEO BOOTH

As of winter 2013-14, Elixir is now offering a cool new service for parties and events. It’s a slo-mo video booth that records in super slow motion (1/10 normal speed) and high-definition. We provide the camera, lighting, a monitor for playback and all the fun props needed. Call or email for inquiries.

Indian Wedding – a new and exciting project!

We recently had the opportunity to film our first Indian wedding in the brief nine years that Elixir has been producing videos. From the very entertaining rehearsal dinner skits and musical performances, to the colorful and spiritual wedding ceremony, to the joyous reception – it was an emotional event and provided tons of great footage for our cameras to capture!

Viral video craziness

This week was beyond interesting at Elixir, as one of our Bar Mitzvah videos went viral with over 600k hits! Sam’s clip was featured on local news stations across the US as well as CNN and Good Morning America. Producers called from London, Israel, the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Queen Latifah show, etc – – crazy!
